Do You Believe in Yourself?!
I’ve got a question for you. Do you believe in yourself? Do you believe in your ability to achieve your dreams, accomplish your goals, and make a difference? Do you believe in yourself? Do you believe in our talents, your gifts, your knowledge, and your experience to make a better life for you? Do you believe in yourself? So many people fail to live the life they want to live, and they give up on their dreams because they stop listening to the voice that says YES YOU CAN! So again I ask Do You Believe in yourself?
Jack Canfield, one of my favorite authors and the co-creator of chicken soup for the soul writes in his book The Success Principles “If you are going to be successful in creating the life of your dreams, you have to believe that you are capable of making it happen. You have to believe you have the right stuff, that you are able to pull it off. Whether you call it self-esteem, self confidence, or self assurance, it is a deep-seated belief that you have what it takes—the abilities, inner resources, talents, and skills to create your desired results.”
He goes on to say that “Believing in yourself is a choice. It is an attitude you develop over time. Although it helps if you had positive and supportive parents, the fact is that most of us had run of the mill parents who inadvertently passed on to us the same limiting beliefs and negative conditioning they grew up with. But remember, the past is the past. There is no pay off for blaming them for your current level of self-confidence. It’s now your responsibility to take charge of your own self concept and your beliefs. You must choose to believe that you can do anything you set your mind to- anything at all – because, in fact, you can.”
Belief in yourself is the number one component to your success. You can have the skills, the talent, and an awesome team, but if you don't believe, just a little, you will never move forward. That's right, just a little. Matthew 17:20 Says, ''if you have faith as small as a mustard Seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from Here to there, 'and it will move. And Nothing will be impossible for you." If a little faith can move a Mountain, a little faith in yourself can change the World. Imagine what you could do if you just Believed in you!
I know that In the midst of the chaos that we tell ourselves and the voices of discouragement that seem to constantly remind us of what we cant do, we forget to remind ourselves of what we have already accomplished in life. And I know that sometimes our accomplishments may seem small to us but in the grand scheme of things you have done some pretty incredible things. If you don’t believe me, I want you to get a piece of paper and write down 3 things that have happened in your life that you either thought you couldn’t do, or that people told you that you couldn’t do and you did it anyway. And I bet you crushed it. Okay, I’ll make it even simpler, what’s One thing that you did that you didn’t think you could do and you did it. No matter how great or small you did it? Think about it I’ll wait… No matter what it was or how long ago it was, you did it. You got your drivers license, graduated high school, conquered an illness, won a race, past the test, ask someone out on a date, started that book, went to work everyday, joined the choir at church, You see, every accomplishment in your life is an opportunity to start believing that you can do amazing things. Take a survey of your life and validate everything you have accomplished so far. Look back at your achievements and remind yourself "you did that."
So how do you start believing in yourself? You start by remembering all of the challenges you have had to overcome and remember how you won. You start by doing a real internal and objective investigation of yourself and your life and reminding yourself that you are a winner. You may not feel like a winner right now, but you are a winner. I know you're a winner because you are watching this video. There is a greatness inside of you that is compelling you to do and be more, and all you need is a little push, so let me be that push for you. Let this moment right now be a confirmation to the voice inside of you that says there’s nothing you cant achieve if you are willing to believe in yourself.
If you can’t start by believing in yourself then start by believing through others. Barak Obama believed that one day he could become president, and he’s not smarter or better than you. Bill Gates believed that he could build a computer that would change the world, and after many failed attempts he did it, and he’s not better than you. Steve Jobs was fired from his own company, Abraham Lincoln failed in business, had a nervous breakdown, and was defeated in eight elections, and still went on to become the 16th president of the United States. One thing I’ve learned about success is that you don’t have to be the most talented and you don’t have to be the most gifted, you just have to believe that it’s possible.
Above all, I want you to believe in yourself Believe that you can and will make a difference in the world. Believe that you are valuable and you are worth it. You are worth the time that it will take to become all that you want to become. You are worth the growing pains and you are worth the rewards. Why? Because, I believe in you. I believe not just in your ability to grow, but also in your desire to do something great and really change your world. I believe that the gifts and talents inside of you were put there to do greater and go farther than you can imagine. I believe that you have the power within to make an amazingly positive impact in your life and in the lives of those around you. I believe that you are special, unique, talented, gifted, intelligent, wise, favored, blessed, strong, confident, healthy, and ready. You are ready for the challenge of transforming your life from regular to amazing. You are ready to pursue your dreams and conquer your fears. You are ready to let go of hurt and unforgiveness for the joy of freedom and peace. You are ready to receive innumerable blessings. I believe that you are ready to change the world, and I believe that you will. So believe with me and lets change the world together.
